"Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Martin Mull fails at 80 – there's a surprising detail inside!"

 American actor and  funnyman Martin Mull, known for his work on the television sitcoms Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Roseanne, has  failed at the age of 80.  pound, who also starred in the 1985 comedy Clue.

failed Thursday at home after a “  gallant battle with a long illness, ” his son, Maggie Mull, said on social media. In a  homage on Instagram, Ms Mull wrote that her father was “ known for  outstripping in every creative discipline imaginable and doing Red Roof Auberge commercials ”. 

“ He'll  suppose the joke is funny, ” he added. “ He was  noway  funny. ”  Mull's first significant  part was in 1976, playing Garth Gimble in the Mary Hartman  caricature cleaner  pieces Mary Hartman, which led to two  fresh spin-off  places, including in the series Fernwood 2 Night. 

He  also landed the  part of military officer Colonel Mustard in the black comedy film Clue, which was inspired by the board game of the same name.  Around that time, he also began  venting the Red Roof Auberge commercials that his son mentioned in her  homage.  

TV  suckers of the 1990s will fete  pound from his work on Roseanne, where he played the main character Leon Carp's  master, or on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, where he played star Willard Kraft. 

pound also appeared in the critically accredited  sarcastic sitcom Arrested Development, playing  unhappy private  operative Gene Parmesan. He has guest- starred on  colorful other well- known  TV shows, including The Simpsons, Family Guy, Law and Order Special Victims Unit, The Golden Girls and Two and a Half Men. 

pound was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his four-  occasion appearance on HBO's political lampoon Veep in 2016. Born in Chicago to an actress and a carpenter. 

pound began her show business career as a  tunesmith and came known as a musical  funnyman. He opened for Frank Zappa and Bruce Springsteen at  colorful live shows in the early 1970s. He also studied  oil and graduated in 1965 from the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelorette of Fine trades degree.  

In a 2013 interview withA.V. Club, he said of his acting career that “ every painter I know has a day job. They educate art in  council or come  hack  motorists. ”  “ I be to be lucky enough to have a great,  delightful day job and buy a lot of  makeup, ” he says.  

In addition to his son, Maggie, a television  pen, he's survived by his  woman, Wendy Haas, an actor and  musician whom hemarried in 1982.
